In 1960, Edmund Meiser and ten employees began manufacturing gratings by hand. The first customers came from the Saarland and thus from the immediate regional area. The start was not the result of a fixed plan, but of an entrepreneurial opportunity: on the recommendation of a contact, a machine for processing steel strip was initially ordered. When the original basis for this was no longer available after a long delivery period, a new direction opened up. Advice from the machine manufacturer and insights from an established producer ultimately lead to the decision to focus consistently on the production of gratings. This marked the beginning of a business segment that has shaped MEISER to this day.
An unexpected turn of events led to the foundation for a product that still characterizes MEISER’s core business today – and the beginning of an extraordinary entrepreneurial success story.
