In 1967, the increasing demand for gratings led to the expansion of the production area and the decision to build its own galvanizing plant. Until then, the company had been reliant on external capacities in Saarland, which made processes increasingly difficult. In 1969, the new plant goes into operation and quickly develops into another important business segment for MEISER. With its entry into hot-dip galvanizing, the company expands its expertise in surface finishing and strengthens its industrial production. However, a technical problem with the system becomes apparent with the very first batch. Wilfried Geib, a nephew of Edmund Meiser, solves the situation with great ingenuity and thus shapes the spirit of technical innovation at MEISER at an early stage.
