Expanded metal ensures stability, reliable separator protection and efficient ion transport in batteries.

Expanded metal in batteries
In batteries, expanded metal is mainly used as a separator between the individual components. This separates the positive and negative electrodes from each other, preventing electrical short circuits and at the same time enabling the necessary ion transport for the electrochemical reaction.
Thanks to its high mechanical stability, the expanded metal grid ensures that the electrodes are securely fixed without impairing the free exchange of ions within the battery. This supports an efficient reaction of the electrode materials and improves the overall performance of the battery.
