As a striking example of modern office architecture, the headquarters of Bausparkasse Wüstenrot in Salzburg’s Alpenstrasse has been a landmark in the south of the city since its redesign.
The building was created as part of a comprehensive refurbishment of an existing building from the 1960s, which was realized by architectural firms such as Trauner.Strobl.Bach and TSB Architekten and is now regarded as an attractive prototype for contemporary, energy-efficient administrative architecture.
The façade, which impresses with its generous and dynamic design, plays a special role here. For this façade, MEISER supplied expanded metal in large mesh made of anodized aluminium, which not only makes an impressive visual statement, but also meets functional requirements.
The vertically arranged metal slats and large-meshed surfaces create an exciting light and shadow effect, provide sun protection and change their appearance depending on the viewing angle and time of day. In this way, the building itself becomes an expressive architectural element – almost like a work of art in the urban landscape of Salzburg.
