Inspiration & Projekte: Grindelwald First

For the “First View” viewing platform on Grindelwald First, PMI MEISER Gitterroste AG supplied the load-bearing and accessible gratings for the windmill-shaped steel structure and the walkway.

Pressed gratings were installed as anti-slip gratings with a mesh size of 33 x 33 mm and a 30 x 3 mm bearing bar, hot-dip galvanized and with SR4 anti-slip profile. The design meets the requirements of alpine weather conditions and high visitor frequency with durable corrosion protection and high slip resistance. The result is robust, low-maintenance walking and walking surfaces that fit precisely into the structure.

The project

The exposed location at an altitude of around 2,200 meters places high demands on construction and materials. Changing weather conditions, moisture, snow and wind have a permanent effect on the accessible surfaces. At the same time, tourist use with high visitor frequencies creates additional mechanical stress and increased demands on slip resistance.

The solution

With the installed pressed anti-slip gratings 33 x 33, 30 x 3 mm, hot-dip galvanized, with anti-slip profile SR4, we offer a durable and slip-resistant solution. The integrated anti-slip profile improves slip resistance even in wet and alpine conditions. The hot-dip galvanizing ensures long-term corrosion protection - for robust, low-maintenance walking and walking surfaces under demanding environmental conditions.
